Nocturne Art at the Monument
Join local artist, Cedar Keshet for an evening of exploring nocturne art and sky gazing at Saddlehorn Picnic Area. A moonlit night can bring peaceful quiet and mystery. Both feelings are evoked in nocturnes, or paintings depicting nightfall lit by the moon, stars and lamplight.
We will be creating simple nocturne artwork with supplies provided. No previous art skills are required, just a willingness to have fun and try a new activity. I encourage everyone to bring your evening meal/snack to enjoy with the group. We will have a very informal dinner and instruction period while waiting for the sun to set. It's always great to familiarize one's self with the surroundings before it gets dark. Remember to pack it in and pack it out, leave no trace. Dog fan that I am, please leave your dog and any other critter at home. Mine will be at home on the furniture while I am out creating at the COLM. These Nocturne Art events create a sense of community with good comradeship, conversation and creation of nighttime art.
